Boston Globe correspondent Linda Matchan noticed a mysterious $5,000 withdrawal from her checking account in June 2022 and embarked on a two-year journey to find her scammer. The money had been taken out of a Bank of America branch in Saratoga Springs, New York, hundreds of miles away from her home in Greater Boston. Matchan later learned than an elderly, wheelchair-bound woman had walked into the bank and presented a fake driver's license with her name on it to get the money. She was even more surprised with what the woman had to say when she finally confronted her in court.

President Joe Biden has proposed two debates with Donald Trump, throwing down the gauntlet in a video message directed at his rival, where he taunts him with 'I hear you're free on Wednesdays.' Trump, who is in his fourth week of a hush-money trial in New York, is required by the judge to be in court for testimony. Wednesday is the only day the court is not in session. Biden is proposing their first debate be in late June and the second would occur in September before early voting begins. He proposes a vice presidential debate in July.

She also spoke out about how the Trumps acted behind-the-scenes - and broke down some of the negatives that came with her job, like the time a client tried to 'physically pull her into a hot tub' with him. She also revealed that despite their immense fame and wealth, there was an 'unspoken rule' that when anyone in the Trump family would eat there, they weren't given a check for their food. That meant none of the Trump family members gave her a tip - except for Donald - but that they showed 'their gratitude in the form of verbal appreciation and respect.'

Authorities confirmed Tuesday they are in possession of the speedboat that killed teen ballerina Ella Riley Adler, 15, as she water skied with friends last Saturday. Adler died after being struck by the vessel in Key Biscayne close to Miami in what investigators described as a 'hit and a run.' The boat was located outside a home in Coral Gables in an exclusive Hammock Oaks and Lakes gated community where homes sell for seven figures. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the owner of the boat is co-operating with the investigation. It is not clear if the owner was driving at the time of the tragedy. Adler was laid to rest on Monday where she was celebrated as a 'star' and 'force of nature.'

The Prime Minister of Slovakia has been 'shot and wounded and taken to hospital,' local reports have claimed. Robert Fico, 59, was shot in Handlova, north-east of Bratislava, following a Slovak government meeting. Shots were fired in front of the House of Culture, before a man was quickly pounced upon and detained by security officials. A witness told Slovakian news site Dennik , that Fico had left the building to greet people who had gathered to catch a glimpse of him before 'several shots were fired'. Fico then reportedly fell to the ground, where she claimed to have seen wounds to his head and chest.

The unidentified American was arrested Monday at the Howard Hamilton International Airport, with Turks and Caicos police saying the bullets were found 'during a routine security check.' The arrest brings the total number of US tourists facing weapons charges on the vacation hotspot to five, with several American fathers making headlines in recent weeks as they face up to 12 years behind bars.

The Alpine School District in Utah has sparked criticism after they removed the name of a student who died of cancer just months before graduation from the ceremony, despite completing all requirements.  Samantha Corey, who was battling a rare and terminal form of cancer, tragically died before she could finish her senior year at American Fork High School. As Samantha's siblings prepared to stand in her place and accept her diploma, they were informed by the district that their participation wouldn't be permitted. Additionally, Samantha's name would be omitted from the ceremony. 

McIlroy filed the divorce papers shortly before the US PGA Championship with court records showing he submitted a 'petition for the dissolution of marriage' on Monday. Koepka took to social media to express his admiration for his wife, Jena Sims, just as the news surrounding McIlroy's shock split broke - and Wozniacki left a comment. Wozniacki and McIlroy began dating in 2011 and announced their engagement in 2013. However, despite making wedding plans, McIlroy called off their relationship via a brief phone call. Wozniacki admitted there has been no communication between them since.

Hannah Roth, from Newport, Tennessee, said the first sign something was wrong was a 'popping' sound when she breathed in, which developed after four years of daily vaping. Ms Roth had never smoked before but picked up vaping as a 'bad habit' due to the stress of the pandemic lockdown and was soon puffing on her device 'every hour of the day'.

Leo Lukenas III, 35, in New York City earlier this month from 'acute coronary artery thrombus, - a disease that causes the formation of a blood clot inside a blood vessel of the heart. Lukenas said in mid-March that he wanted to leave Bank of America because of the grueling hours, Douglas Walters, a managing partner at GrayFox Recruitment, told Reuters in an interview. GrayFox specializes in placing people in financial industry jobs, including investment banking and private equity.

The shopper told police he had fired one fatal gunshot in self defense after the dog tried to bite him, however Harmon has refuted his version of events. The actress has now filed her own lawsuit alleging trespassing and negligence.

Residents of a small southern city have been priced out of buying homes as a population boom sees out of town buyers drawn by cheaper real estate and lower taxes. Homelessness in the city has soared as charities say a heightened cost of living is to blame. There are concerns that without more affordable housing, the issue will only get worse, with one advocate saying: 'I guarantee you it's going to double from where we are now.'

Ali Hamsa Yusuf, 22, was caught on surveillance footage creeping up behind his boss at an Amazon warehouse in in West Jefferson, Ohio. The trainee security guard had been in the job two weeks when he attempted to murder his supervisor police said. Heart-stopping footage shows Yusuf saunter up behind his target while he sits at his desk fire twice after the gun jammed the first time. The trainee then fled the scene and was later killed in a shootout with the cops.

An unknown driver knocked over a historic tram tower in Death Valley, California. Officials believe they used a winch to pull their vehicle out of mud, using the tower as an 'anchor.' The National Park Service said that the incident is believed to have happened between April 1 and April 24. In 1911, the Saline Valley Salt Company built the 13 mile aerial tram to transport salt from Saline Valley to Owens Valley.

Nurse Amy Appelhans Gubser, 55, became the first swimmer to complete the almost 30 mile swim across the treacherous Gulf of the Farallones in an outbound direction. The mom and grandma-of-two is a lifelong swimmer but described the feat as the hardest thing she has ever set out to do. Gubser was supported by a team who were only allowed to spend an hour in the water with her at a time with an hour break between. She braved 43 degree water with no wetsuit to complete the herculean swim in just over 17 hours.

A miniature poodle named Sage took home first place at the 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show over the weekend. Her handler, Kaz Hosaka, participated in his final competition as he is set to retire after 45 years. Sage, from Houston, Texas, went up against six other finalist, as Mercedes, a German shepherd, came in second with her handler, Kent Boyles. Sage came from a non-sporting group and was the first female Best in Show since 2020.

Distressing video shows the horrific moment a 55-tonne truck plowed into the front of a car carrying 18 schoolchildren, killing all on board, after hurtling down the wrong side of the road in South Africa. In a case that shocked the country, dashcam footage from the cabin of the truck shows the huge vehicle hurtling down the wrong side of the road as oncoming traffic veers out of the way. The HGV, carrying a whopping 34 tonnes of coal, overtakes fifteen vehicles before smashing headfirst into a much smaller Toyota Station Wagon at more than 60mph.

Mark Zuckerberg has celebrated turning 40 with recreations of places he lived when he was younger. The Facebook founder shared rare photos of his family and friends at the party on Instagram, for which he said his wife Priscilla Chan 'recreated a bunch of places I lived in the early days'. One of the pictures showed him sitting next to Bill Gates in a miniature version of the Harvard dorm where the Meta billionaire created Facebook. Another image showed the father-of-three with his daughters Maxima, 8, and August, 6, as he is showing them around the recreation of his childhood bedroom where he learned to code.

Viral video shared on TikTok by Joshua Beckler shows the aftermath of a recent theft at a Tesla Supercharger station in Vallejo, California. The nine stations can be seen without any of the cables attached to them as Beckler shows the core of the heavy duty cable, which is clearly rich in copper. The incident happened over the weekend before it was reported to Vallejo police on Sunday morning.
