Kelly Clarkson has finally admitted she used a weight loss drug to slim down after previously insisting her dramatic transformation was the result of 'walking' more and cutting back on carbs. The Kelly Clarkson Show host, 42, made the confession while interviewing Whoopi Goldberg, 68, onto her show on Monday. The Miss Independent singer - who's been at the center of speculation for months about her rapid weight loss - said that doctors prescribed her with a weight loss medication after a blood test. 

Mourners have been remembering Ella Adler, shown left with her family, the granddaughter of the US Ambassador to Belgium, Michael Adler, as a prodigious ballerina who one day aspired to become the President of the United States. She was killed tragically in a boating accident in South Florida on Saturday, shown bottom right. She was 15 years old. Her funeral was held Monday.

Mica Miller, 30, (left) was found dead in Lumbee River State Park in North Carolina on April 27 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She took her own life days after serving her husband John Paul Miller, 44, (right) with divorce papers, and police ruled it a suicide. The Robeson County Sheriff's Office, which has been in charge of the investigation, said that they've been in touch with federal authorities since they began their probe. 'Based on the information gathered during the investigation and jurisdiction reasons, the Sheriff's Office has requested the assistance of both agencies,' the sheriff's office said in a statement Monday.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archewell Foundation has claimed that a cheque going missing in the post is why a US charity regulator has declared it 'delinquent'. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's organisation is 'not in good standing' according to the Registry of Charities and Fundraisers in California , where the couple live. It said Archewell failed to correctly submit its annual report or renewal fees and has been banned from either fundraising or distributing charitable funds for now. But Sussex sources insist the paperwork was filed on time, with the discrepancy down to a 'cheque' which accompanied the documents going missing in the post. They also maintain that 'a new cheque has been mailed', which should mean the issue will be 'quickly resolved' - but the revelation will likely cause embarrassment.

As far as 'tour'drobes go, the Duchess of Sussex 's are always iconic, and during her three-day visit to Nigeria there were plenty of fashion moments that showcased her new penchant for hidden meanings. With a wardrobe of chic and patriotic looks that featured their usual layered symbolism, Meghan explained that she was using colour to get closer to her Nigerian heritage. A recent study has revealed the incomes necessary for families to live comfortably across the United States - and the stark contrast in the cost of living between states is startling.  The study revealed that in the most expensive states, families need nearly $300,000 to simply live 'comfortably.' The least expensive state requires about half that salary - still over $100,000.  Meanwhile, the average annual salary in the US is $59,428, or $28.34 per hour, as of May 2024.

Red Lobster staff across the country are up in arms after the seafood restaurant shuttered more than 50 outlets across with no warning, leaving them jobless with no notice.  The chain has 'temporarily closed' locations in Buffalo, Orlando, Jacksonville and other cities, and is auctioning off kitchen equipment and furniture, according to CNN.  The brand is reportedly eyeing up a possible Chapter 11 filing to restructure its debt, allowing it to discard long-term contracts and renegotiate new leases.

The graduation ceremony for the historically black college's College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences was shut down before the keynote address at the Cramton Auditorium in Washington DC. Relatives of some of the graduates were seen on video chanting and smashing glass as the ceremony began on Thursday.

A brazen porch pirate snatched a package worth thousands of dollars containing six iPhones from a Pennsylvania homeowner and it was all caught on doorcam. The thief sprinted up just as Henry stepped out to retrieve the parcel, leaving him shocked. A second delivery driver nearby showed no concern or aid. The police investigating potential connections to other crimes. Henry suspects the thief was targeting the iPhones specifically, noting a suspicious scam call right after the theft.

Malinda Hoagland, 12, was found 'barely alive' by police on May 4 after her father Rendall Hoagland called 911 claiming she had crashed her bicycle on a tree. The girl, who weighed just 50 pounds, died just hours after arriving at the hospital, where officials were shocked by her condition, which included heavy bruising, half a dozen broken bones and liver damage. Hoagland, 52, and his fiancé Cindy Warren, 45, were charged in connection to her death two days later. A rollercoaster that had been billed as the tallest and fastest in the world was abruptly shut down just a week after it opened at an Ohio theme park. The ride must undergo a 'mechanical modification.' Before its closure, its top speed was 120 mph.

Zhang Jinxia, 28, was feeding his 17-month-old daughter as she sat in her stroller when she suddenly fell sideways, narrowly missing the tiled floor before he quickly grabbed her by her jumper. With the bowl of baby food still in his hand, Mr Jinxia pats his daughters back as she begins to cry from the shock. Luckily the baby was not hurt but he decided to push the pram away and keep her safe on his lap instead. The video was captured on May 4 in Hefei, southern China , and went viral on Chinese social media.

Auditions for a hotly contested spot on the cheer squad representing the team, which has thrice won the Super Bowl in the 2020s, are blowing up on Instagram. On May 3, judges welcomed finalists for in-person tryouts at the Chief's home venue or Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. While just under 70 hopefuls were invited to the in-person finals, only 34 were revealed to have made the cut for this year's Chief Cheer. In addition to showing off their physical acumen, finalists were required to sit for interviews and give 'mock speeches' to show off their grasp on topics like the history of the Chiefs and their general knowledge of football.
